The senior journalist had penned more than 20 books in Marathi and English. He also launched the Observer Research Foundation’s study centre. Many of his friends recalled his contribution to the Asiatic Society of Mumbai, a charge he took in 2010 where, as President, he painstakingly worked to preserve several thousand books which were rare and dating to the British era.
